Job Title

Retired Human Resources Chief

What is a brief description of your job?

I was the Chief of the Human Resources Branch of the Department of State Hospitals, which had approximately 12,000 employees statewide, but now I am retired!

How long have you been involved in or volunteered with the campaign?

This is my third season working with the Our Promise campaign.

What is your favorite part about the program or the opportunity to be a part of the program?

You never know you need a nonprofit until you need one. This was true for me and I give via payroll deduction through my CalPERS retirement.

What inspires you to give through the Our Promise campaign?

The desire to give to programs that I care deeply about.

Which nonprofits or causes do you donate time or funds to, and why?

The nonprofit near and dear to my heart is Yolo Hospice. It is because they exist and provide the services they do, that I was able to bring my husband home from the hospital where he was able to live his final days surrounded by family and friends. This is a gift that is priceless to me and I am forever grateful.
