Our Promise Co-Chairs Announced
GovOps Secretary Yolanda Richardson Joins California's Chief Service Office Josh Fryday to Lead the 2021 Campaign
Our Promise California State Employees Giving at Work is pleased to announce our 2021 Campaign Co-Chairs: Chief Service Officer at California Volunteers Josh Fryday and Secretary Yolanda Richardson of California Government Operations. This marks the second year for Fryday, who chaired the event last year and the first for Richardson.
The Our Promise campaign occurs annually beginning on September 1 and will run through November 12. State agencies – along with other departments – work to ensure that every state employee is given the opportunity to donate to philanthropic organizations throughout the state. During the campaign, employees can give to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization having as low as $5 per pay cycle deducted from their wages.
“California state workers have always been everyday heroes doing their part to keep us safe, healthy, and strong,” said co-chair Fryday. “This was never more true than last year during the pandemic when non-profits were hit especially hard – and I am confident we will continue that trend into the 2021 campaign.”
Secretary Richardson is equally inspired. “I’m eager to represent the largest effort among nearly 300,000 California state employees to support charitable programs,” said Richardson. “With the online portal, making a charitable gift from your paycheck is easier than ever.”
Our Promise Senior Director Tabitha Angel is grateful for the combined leadership. “This year, state workers are integral in helping California recover, rebuild and revive. The combined leadership of Officer Fryday and Secretary Richardson is an invaluable asset as we gear up for our September start date.”
