Apply For 2024 Certification- Closes on February 29th

Post

Nonprofit certification for the Fall 2024 Our Promise Campaign is available! From now until February 29th, we will give every qualified nonprofit in California the opportunity to register with the Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work campaign, the largest charitable campaign in the state.

This year, the Our Promise Campaign is making a change to the Certification process. If you were certified with Our Promise in the 2023 Campaign season, or if you received a payout from Our Promise during the 2023 calendar year, you will automatically be applied for Certification in the 2024 Campaign year, and you do not need to fill this form out. This does not guarantee Certification approval, however, as that still depends on your organization’s good-standing with the IRS and CA Department of Justice.

Any applying Charities must have a valid 501(c)(3) status with the IRS and must be in good standing with the Registry of Charitable Trusts to operate or to solicit for charitable purposes in California. A registration that is delinquent, suspended or revoked is not in good standing. (Gov. Code, § 12599.6, subd. (f)(1); Cal. Code Regs., tit 11, §999.9.4.)

A charity that is not in compliance with the registration and reporting requirements listed above will not be an eligible charity to participate in Our Promise: California State Employees Giving at Work Campaign.
